Happy Holidays to the NPS Community!

Holiday picture with Vice Adm. Ann E. Rondeau, U.S. Navy (ret.), her husband John and their dog Buddy.

As we celebrate the Season, John and I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for representing the vigor and spirit of our institution, especially during this pivotal and transformational year.

As we celebrate the Season, John and I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for representing the vigor and spirit of our institution, especially during this pivotal and transformational year.

We set the stage in 2022 for our envisioned future: forging new pathways toward greater innovation and invigorating the process of modernizing NPS and renewing its legacy as a state-of-the-art, highly-adaptable, responsive, and solution-driven leader in naval education and research.  Our faculty began to pioneer new and effective approaches for expanding education reach and impactful research outcomes, as well as technological capabilities and innovation leadership competencies for our warrior-scholars. We worked diligently to focus and align our education and deliver solutions at greater speed and scale.

The NPS staff expertly continued to leverage their skills and dedication to provide constancy in support of all campus operations and services. Together, we further identified and resourced our most pressing requirements, including a campus modernization plan that will bring our existing facilities into the 21st Century while laying the foundation for NPS to grow as a center for naval innovation.

Our Alumni network and friends and families expanded our reach into the community, and fortified our beliefs in possibility, optimism and unity. This year, the values that unite us could be found all around the campus, demonstrating that when we all come together, we are stronger and can achieve anything.

The soul of our institution is and always has been our students, and it is those men and women who we honor and remember, especially those who have laid down their lives for our country or are, have been, or are being deployed. Our university, our nation relies on their courage and their service. As you renew family traditions at dinner tables full of laughter and joy, remember the families who carry on their legacies while waiting for their loved ones to return to them.

Although we may celebrate different holidays this season, sing different songs or pray differently from each other, our value and mission at NPS steadily endures, promising us all a greater tomorrow as we look ahead to a new year.

John and I wish you a safe and Happy Holiday season, one that lights your paths, homes and hearts with many blessings.

Ann and John (AND Buddy).
