The NPS Foundation and Alumni Association has honored Operations Research faculty Drs. Susan Sanchez and Thomas Lucas as winners of the 2019 Menneken Research Award for Significant and Sustained Contributions. The prestigious award recognizes the professors' efforts as co-directors of the university's SEED (Simulation Experiments and Efficient Designs) Center for Data Farming, where they have collaborated for nearly two decades on research underpinning dramatic advances in how scientists and engineers use high-performance computing to obtain insights from complex models.
