2024 MOVES Open House

The 2024 MOVES Open House will be held June 4-6, 2024, at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey California.

 

Here is an overview of  the event - a more in-depth agenda can be found here.

 

Day 1 - Tuesday, June 4, 2024

Day 1 will be MOVES-centered, with briefs on the MOVES curriculum, it's future directions and faculty research.

It will also be the day to meet the members of our junior cohort who will be looking for thesis topics.

The talks  will conclude with the Army keynote by COL Heath McCormick, Military Director of the Army Modeling and Simulation Office (AMSO), which will be followed by a reception at the Trident Room.
 

Day 2 - Wednesday, June 5, 2024

Day 2 will also focus on MOVES, with our Naval Keynote, presentations by MOVES alumni on the work they are doing in their M&S jobs, more faculty research, and briefs on several new institutions MOVES is working with.
 

Day 3 - Thursday, June 6, 2024.

Day 3 will focus on industry. It will begin with our Industry Keynote, presented by Doug Allsop, Chief Scientist at Boeing Corporation. It will also have briefs on how industry can work with MOVES, as well as short briefs from various companies who will be presenting their work. The afternoon will consist of demos by companies in the M&S space.

Army Keynote Speaker

Colonel Heath McCormick, USA

COL McCormick is currently the military director of the Army Modeling and Simulation Office (AMSO).

COL McCormick began his career in the Infantry. He was selected to serve as a Simulation Operations Officer (Functional Area 57) in 2007, and since then has served in a variety of billets. His FA-57 tours include serving as the Deputy Regimental S-8 while deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with the 75th Ranger Regiment, the Deputy Director of the Fort Bragg Mission Training Complex at Fort Bragg, NC, and as the G-37, Director of Training and Exercises, for U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR) and subsequently as the Director of the Joint Multinational Simulation Center, under the 7th Army Training Command.

Industry Keynote Speaker

David Allsop - Boeing Corporation

David Allsop is currently the chief systems engineer on the F-15EX program at the Boeing Company. He has held a number of senior technical and leadership roles on a number of aerospace platforms across space, commercial and defense systems.

He is an associate technical fellow, manage the Boeing modeling and simulation community of excellence, chair of the NDIA Modeling and Simulation subcommittee and chair or advise a number of systems engineering, modeling or simulation working groups in NDIA and INCOSE.
